Ben was a nice man. Very nice. But he was fiercely protective of a select few people, and there were no limits to what he'd do to protect them. True, Giselle was a strong woman, perfectly capable of defending her own honor, but he'd help. He'd insist upon it. Fortunately, it sounded like Oren was a decent guy. "I'm glad you had a good time with him. Let's hope he makes more of an effort next time. You deserve better than bad TV and Chinese takeout. He should wine and dine you, sweep you off your feet." Giselle was an incredible woman. If Oren couldn't see that, he didn't stand a chance. Ben knew Giselle would never settle. Nor should she!
Big question. He pushed the vegetables around a bit, turning the heat down slightly since the pasta needed a little more time to cook. "Uh, well, that's sorta why I asked you to come over. It's not so much WHAT has been keeping me busy, but WHO." He looked up at her, a bit of fear probably showing in his features. "I've..been seeing someone."
