I've got a similar definition of Wicca. And I agree that it's quite possible that someone holding a drunken bonfire of toxic materials is likely not to have any priestess training or notable amount of spiritual consciousness... but I'm loathe to judge someone's religious affiliation based on how they're presented in a single media article.
Even if she's an idiot, I'm not sure it's a good idea to declare "a real Wiccan wouldn't do that" or even "a real Wiccan probably wouldn't do that." It implies that there's some list of "thou shalt nots" that Wiccans are required to adhere to.
I don't have a problem with declaring "a Wiccan is someone who _______, and anyone who doesn't, isn't Wiccan;" I do have problems with "Wiccans would never _______!" I want the public perception of Wicca to be defined by what the religion is, what it does, not by what its practitioners despise or think is stupid.
