First Tarot Reading [31 Mar 2008|07:56am] peppercat [ mood | contemplative ] I did my first Tarot reading tonight with a little of Susie's help. As many of my friends know, I had a falling out with Danielle(best friend of 14 years). A few nights ago, I had a nightmare and I remembered the key details to it. I know that the dreams/nightmares you remember most are the ones that mean something. There was a message. ( The Nightmare ) I was talking to Susie about it and we were only able to pinpoint I was afraid of something. But we couldnt quite figure out what it was and where the rape scene fit in. So I suggested we consult her tarot cards but since her cards weren't downstairs, I suggested mine long as she helps me since this would be my first reading. We used This set-up for the reading(the celtic cross). ( What the cards had told me ) ( Clarity ) After this reading, I felt relieved somehow. Knowing what was going wrong, what the nightmare was trying to tell me, and knowing what I must do to solve the issue currently. This first reading was the very first step into finally bonding with my cards and I know when I do leave for the airline academy, I will take them with me(as well as a little figure of bast too). And now I cant help but smile. Visit from the yule spirits [28 Nov 2007|01:41pm] myuutsu [ mood | cheerful ] Come gather 'round my friends for one of my favorite Yule stories. ^_^ *ahem* Visit From the Yule Spirits Copyright by Richard De Angelis 'Twas the night before Yule, when all 'cross the hearth, not a being was stirring; Pagan, faerie, or beast. Wassail was left out & the alter adorned, to rejoice that the Sun King would soon be reborn. The children lay sleeping by the warmth of the hearth, their dreams filled with visions of belov'd Mother Earth. M'lady & I beneath blankets piled deep, had just settled down to our own Solstice sleep. Then a noise in the night that would leave us no peace, Awakened us both to the honking of geese. Eager to see such a boisterous flock, When we raced to the window, our mouths dropped in shock! On the west wind flew a gaggle of geese white & gray, With Frau Holda behind them in her giftladen dray. The figure on her broomstick in the north sky made it clear, La Befana was approaching to bestow Yuletide cheer. From the south came a comet more bright than the moon, And we knew that Lucia would be with us soon. As these spirits sailed earthward o'er hilltops & trees, Frau Holda serenaded her feathery steeds: "Fly Isolde! Fly Tristan! Fly Odin & Freya! Fly Morgaine! Fly Merlin! Fly Uranus & Gaea! May the God & the Goddess inside you soar, From the clouds in the heavens to yon cottage door." As soft & silent as snowflakes they fell: Their arrival announced by a faint chiming bell. They landed like angels, their bodies aglow. Their feet left no marks in the new fallen snow. Before we could ponder what next lay in store, There came a slow creaking from our threshold door. We crept from our bedroom & were spellbound to see... There in our parlor stood the Yule Trinity! Lucia, the Maiden, with her head wreathed in flame, Shown with the radiance for which she was named. The Lightbringer' s eyes held the joy of a child, And she spoke with a voice that was gentle, yet wild: "May the warmth of this household ne'er fade away." Then she lit our Yule log which still burns to this day. Frau Holda in her down cloak stood regal & tall; The Matron of Solstice, the Mother of all. Under her gaze we felt safe & secure. Her voice was commanding, yet almost demure: "May the love of this family enrich young & old." And from the folds of her cloak showered coins of pure gold. Le Befana wore a kerchief on her silvery hair; The veil of the Crone who has secrets to share. In her eyes gleamed a wisdom only gained by spent youth. Her voice was a whisper but her words rung with truth: "May health, glad tidings, and peace fill these rooms." And she banished misfortune with a sweep of her broom. They then left a gift by each sleeping child's head, Took a drink of our wassail, & away they sped. While we watched them fly off through the night sky we laughed, At the wondrous magick we had found in the Craft. As they departed, the spirits decreed... I came across a forum that might be kind of helpful to look at and gather some information at. http://www.mysticwicks.com/index.php? It is more geared toward Pagans, but there is also a section for people who are interested in the Druidic Path. Also a lot of sections on other stuff. From what I've looked at they seem pretty nice there, and if you don't want to join up (like me) you can just read and look at what others have asked. I'd join it, but I think it'd be better if maybe some people saw something interesting there, and we could bring the discussion over here to maybe liven up this asylum again. cast a spell

[18 Sep 2004|04:15pm] I haven't seen any updates on this thing in a while. So, firstly, I will admit, I know absolutely nothing about Wicca. One of the religions or beliefs I never heard of (by that I mean I know the name, but almost nothing of what it's actually about, nothing in depth). There were other religions nature based I heard a lot about, but I don't even know if they exist anymore. It was some class. I think one began with a D or something... Another possibly with a T. There was one girl.. everyone loved her, though I just didn't get it. It wasn't jealousy, though.. I liked her for a while. But then I became aware of a weird drain around her, like my emotions and energy were draining away. Watching others, I felt this was happening to them, but they didn't notice it. What are your 3 favorite books on Paganism/Wicca? Mine are: 1) The Spiral Dance; by Starhawk. It's such a great Pagan 101 type of book, without being too simplistic. 2) Animal Speak; by Ted Andrews. (I think) I like all the information on totem animals and what we can learn from them. I refer to it fairly often. 3) Circle Round; because it is the best book i have found so far about the Sabbats and is the only decent book I've heard of about raising children in a Pagan tradition. I am fifteen years old, and I have been reading as much about Wicca as I can since January, 2004. I'm relatively new, of course, and I still have much to learn. It bothers me that many teenagers try to flee to another religion in an atttempt of "rebellion." Some people have actually accused me of the same thing. All I can say is that I take religion very seriously, and I would not claim one as my own just to annoy people or look cool. I think that's sickening. I've also been dating a wonderful girl named Jen since January 24th, 2004. When she found out I was beginning to study Wicca, she was delighted to help me, for she has been practicing Wicca for six years. I am unable to use spells or openly celebrate my religion because of my parents, who are Christian and intolerant of other religions. Not that all Christians are like that -- I have Christian friends who don't give a rip about what I believe, as long as I truly believe in something -- just they are. I can be found primarily on AOL, on the screen names Asamiya, Mudou Sara, Yamato Ishida, and Virgoistic. Feel free to IM me if you'd like to talk. Hello All [06 Jul 2004|10:24am] ex_dreamsmad751 [ mood | cheerful ] [ music | Theme from Aladin.... *sigh* ] I just found this asylum and thought I'd join and introduce myself. Let's see... I have been on a Pagan path for about 7 years now and have fairly recently been studying Wicca more seriously. I haven't had the kind of time I really need to study and practice because I have 3 kids; ages 10, 7, and 2... all boys. :) They keep me pretty busy. I am married to the man of my dreams. I am so lucky. At a fairly late age I am learning to drive and contemplating going back to school. I really have so much on my plate already, so who knows what will happen with the school thing... I really hope to be able to go, but my kids have to coe first. I am growing in several directions since finding my patron Godddess; really facing my fears and pushing my limits. :) I am a Gemini-Goat. I enjoy books, games, swimming, art, baking, cooking, herbs, movies, music, parties, politics, religion, etc etc. I am looking foreward to getting to know all of you, if you don't mind having an "old lady" hanging around with you. ;) 201 sparks of magick|cast a spell

Okay.. Soo.. A question! [24 Jun 2004|12:04am] oceansangel Well... A few.. 1) I'm going to a forum a lot these days, and there are often threads about Wicca and asking people about it. There are always the people who come in and call the person an idiot and say "If you're Wiccan, you're supposed to deny Wicca exists".. Now in the sites listed here in this journal, it says that Wiccans talk about it freely with those they can trust, and that if questioned by a person outside, they gladly answer the questions anyone has. These people also tend to say Wiccan is only 50 or so years old and that Gardner "invented it", the sites listed here however seem to go against what those people say to some extent. I trust the sites more than those people, but am I misunderstanding something? and 2) I feel really really really bad about this but.. I don't know what to do. Lately, there is an infestation of earwigs. I do mean infestation, they are EVERYwhere.. Its really gross when you go to crawl into bed and there is an earwig or two crawling around in there. I got tired of catching the earwigs, and tossing them outside, and lately I've begun to kill them, because there are just so damn many of them. Does anyone know anything I can do to get them to keep out of the house and eating my moms herbs? I've read somewhere that garlic tends to work... Also.. Should I feel as guilty as I do for killing off the earwigs, or am I just being silly? 4 sparks of magick|cast a spell
