Martha curled up in the lobby, wrapped her arms around her knees, and leaned her head back against the wall. "I," she announced, "am going to become a nun. A lesbian nun."

It was the only answer.

Jason was padding up from downstairs, barefoot but wearing leather and silk. Jean-Claude's influence. The pants were tight but let him move and the blue silk was exactly the same color as his eyes. Not what Jason would ever have gotten himself, but the vampire knew what he was doing.

He tilted his head, zeroing in on the woman who had spoken before he walked over and dropped down beside her. "I've thought about doing that myself," he said after a moment. "But I think they might have a few problems with me."
