All Leonard McCoy wanted to do was scrape the memory of yesterday from his brain-- and brains of everyone else. It wasn't that the away mission had gone badly. Well, okay, it had gone badly but the part he'd participated in had gone more smoothly than anyone could've anticipated. Which actually annoyed him a little bit because it made those damn outfits they'd been forced to endure pointless, since they weren't really needed at all! Oh, sure, he was glad the ladies weren't injured beyond a few cuts, scrapes and bruises but he'd basically sacrificed the last of his dignity for nothing!
At any rate, he'd done his best to convince Chapel to take the day off-- for her own mental health as much as his. McCoy figured of all the people in Sickbay, his sassy head nurse would be the most likely to torment him over those damn costumes... probably because she's actually witnessed him in it. Although, M'Benga kept giving him looks like he was trying not to burst into peels of laugther, so maybe he wasn't as safe as he'd hoped. Honestly, all he wanted was to get through his eight hours on without ridicule. Was that really so much to ask? (It shouldn't be but on this ship? Yeah right.)
