Christine's day had started off relatively normal. Run of the mill morning. That was until she left the mess at lunch. That was when the first strange event of the day happened. She was in the hall outside of sickbay when she was startled by a young lieutenant from security. She remembered him when he came into sickbay for his physical, but she couldn’t remember his name.
"You look stunning today." He said gallantly and before Christine had a chance to react he'd grabbed her hand, pulled her to him, and started to give her a slow spin. The short cheek to cheek dance ended almost as soon as it began. The security officer kissed the back of her hand. "I'm going to come back and see you later." He promised with a wink before he set off along his way.
She shook her head and reported to her post. She waved at a couple of nurses who were going to lunch to see that sickbay was practically empty. Good time to get some reports done, since there was a nurse already checking and recording the readings for the two patients they had. “Burke, I’m going to be in supplies.” The nurse nodded and waved her off to say she had this. So Christine grabbed a PADD and went to do some inventory.
Christine got through two shelves before she caught sight of her reflection on a shiny tube next to the shelf. Sure her face was slightly distorted, but how the hell had she missed that lump in her pulled back hair? She instantly put the PADD on the shelf and no longer gave much of a care about inventory. She pulled the grip out of her hair and began pulling her hands through it to pull it up properly. It was important to look good after all.
