After the boys were gone, Caitlin stood up from the couch and started to walk around with Erin in her arms. The little girl was starting to squirm again so Caitlin softly rubbed her back as she hummed to her. She didn't know if she was doing it right but Erin seemed to be settling down a little.
When Carson and Rodney walked in, Caitlin looked over at her husband but before she could say anything back to him, Rodney was asking them not to do it. She furrowed her brow, wondering how he knew they were talking about him, but figured it was just a lucky guess. "Sorry. We won't do it again," she promised before handing Erin over to her father. "You two can handle the ear drops. I tried to help my mom once when she needed to give Charlie some drops, he bit me."
"Charlie?" Rodney asked as he held Erin.
"My younger brother," Caitlin said. She then remembered Carson was the only one on the expedition that really knew about Charlie.
"I didn't know you have a brother," Rodney said while he sat down on the couch so Carson could show him out to give Erin the drops.
"Had a brother. He died when I was little," Caitlin said, wanting a change of subject. "Do you want me to put your stuff in the spare bedroom?"
