Caitlin was glad to have this vacation. Between helping Carson with the retro-virus and helping Fred and Tim with the DNA program, she rarely had a moment to just breath and relax. The only time she was able to relax was when she slept, but even then she found herself getting up in the middle of the night to make notes. She hoped the vacation gave her brain a chance to take a break, too.
After waving goodbye to Fred, John and the kids, Caitlin helped Carson fold up the umbrella and put it away. When they were finished, she reached down and took his hand, and tugged him over to her. Snaking her arms around his neck, she leaned up and deeply kissed him for several moments as a breeze from the ocean blew around them.
"Hey," she whispered when they broke apart. She wrapped her arms around him and snuggled against him. Caitlin always felt safe in his arms. Safe and content.
After a few moments, she pulled back and took his hand again. Once they were inside, Caitlin softly kissed him again before nodding toward the bathroom. "I'm going to take a quick shower to get the salt off. I won't be long," she said.
The shower didn't long and when Caitlin was finished, she dried off and went to the bedroom. She pulled out one of Carson's t-shirts and put it, and nothing else, on. She then went back to the main part of the cottage. "This is the best vacation I've ever been on," Caitlin whispered before she wrapped her arms around him again.
