Current mood: | ecstatic |
Caitlin closed the door of her office and looked down at her hand. Five minutes was too long to wait and she was sure she was going to be caught. She was having a hard enough time trying to hide, while trying to hide what she was doing from her husbands. Shifting from foot-to-foot, she glanced at the timer on her watch and then at her hand again. "Oh, come on already," she muttered. Just then, the timer went off and she took a deep breath before peeking down at her hand again.
A huge smile crossed her face. After everything that had happened, they were finally going to have something to celebrate.
After putting the piece of plastic into her pocket, Caitlin turned off her laptops and hurried out of her office, making sure to properly lock it. She had asked Rodney and Carson to meet her for a late lunch, and now she had good news to tell them. It was a step in the right direction, she knew. It'd been almost two weeks since they had taken out the last hive but she knew the team was still healing. They could've died and she could see it on everyone's face.
Daniel was almost healed but he seemed relectant to leave the city without his wife, while Fred had practically attached herself to John's hip. She understood where they were coming from since Rodney had been there and she couldn't stomach the thought of him being hurt or worse.
"Caitlin?"
She stopped and turned around to see Michaela Williams, the head of the Animal Science Department, standing there with a plastic tank in her hands. "What's up?" she asked.
"If finally got the swim tank for Jeffrey," Michaela said as she handed it to her. "Sorry it took so long but I was just able to go back to Earth last week."
"Thanks," Caitlin said with a grin. "And Jeffrey thanks you too!"
Michaela lightly blushed and shrugged her shoulders. "It's nothing really," she shyly said. "I guess I'll talk to you tomorrow at the department head meeting."
Caitlin nodded. "Yeah," she said before Michaela said goodbye.
With the swim tank, Caitlin hurried toward the family living area and to her quarters. When she got there, Rodney and Carson were sitting on the couch. She put the tank down and stood in front of her husbands. With a smile, she pulled out the pregnancy test.
Rodney looked at her and furrowed her brow. "Who's pregnant now?" he asked. "And why do you keep giving people tests? Isn't that Jennifer's and Carson's job?"
Rolling her eyes, Caitlin looked at Carson and then back at Rodney. "Seriously? Are you that thick, Rodney?" she asked. "It's mine, you dork!"
"Hey! No need to call me names!" Rodney huffed before realization dawned on his face. "Wait...you're having a baby?"
