Looking back toward Charlie, Carson shook his head in amusement at the sight of her pulling her foot and reached out his hand so she could take his finger. She squealed and grabbed it while Helen looked in the rearview mirror.
"Carson used to do that too," she said. "I was never sure if he just liked pulling on his foot or if he was trying to figure out how it worked."
Once they reached the Piazza, Carson took the stroller once Charlie was settled in it. As they walked along, he listened to his wife and mum as they talked about the muffins, just enjoying the fact that they could be normal for a bit. Atlantis didn't allow for this sort of thing - just walking through a shopping center.
In the kid's store, Carson was looking at some of the outfits his mother was cooing over when Cait held up the fishing pole. Laughing, he took it. It's perfect, he told her before giving her a kiss.
Kneeling down, he showed the fishing pole to Charlie. "What do you think, sweetheart?" he asked. "Would you like this?"
Charlie immediately grabbed the pole, causing Carson to grin. He looked up at his wife.
