"Trefoil, vervain, John's-wort, dill, hinders witches of their will," muttered Neville as he leaned close to the ground. It was a warm summer's day and a faint smile graced his lips for a moment as his thumb and forefinger slipped around the hardy thin green stalk and snapped. The rest of the rhyme came mumbling out. "Weel is them, that weel may fast upon Saint Andrew's day..." He paused. "Aye, but I wonder what he could possibly want with this."
