Lance & Rachel

6/6 | Morning | Moderate

Rachel is helping at the studio while everyone is not all themselves.

The plan had been to go to the studio, lend a hand for the day while things were all jumbled up and maybe help anyone personally that needed it. Not that there was much she could do. Rachel had been practicing more with her magic in the woods, trying to pluck information out of the dark voice that she knew belonged to her father, the demon Trigon, trying to entice her. The best she could do in her current state as a male was listen in to others' minds or find out what they were feeling. Projecting didn't seem like it would do anything.

It helped that most of the clothes she had were bigger. The rest she had created herself, a combination of magic and personal distressing to make the clothes more to her liking. His. His liking. That was going to take getting used to.

It occurred that maybe Lance wouldn't recognize her in this state. It helped that his hair didn't have the purple tint, but the red gem fragment in the forehead? Dead give away. Rachel reminded himself that he was doing this for the studio boss Peter, formerly known as Abe - it never was clear what people went by once they seemed to know themselves.

Getting situated and pulling his jacket off, Rachel heard someone call that a heavy prop needed to be moved. "I got it," he called, closely eyeing said prop before raising his hand and twisting. A purple aura os smoke came off his hand and was radiating around the prop, moving it with ease to its spot.

While he'd been wholly unaware of the chaos for...a good hour or so until his 'friend' had awoken him with a scream due to her inflection. Since then he hadn't quite been weirded out about things but it was very crazy nonetheless. Still, work was fairly easy and he could do a good majority of it with his eyes closed, as the saying went.

Having been settled at the desk, gathering up the papers to read off of, as well making small talk to anyone who drifted by, his attention hadn't been on Raven at all except in curious passing. At least until the other had shown off their power.

"Now That is amazing." He spoke casually, raising an eyebrow before tossing a casual grin at the younger.

As soon as Rachel heard his voice, he stiffened up and tried not to look in Lance's direction. That was an immediate stalemate with himself though because he couldn't help it. Curious eyes glanced his way and there was an immediate flare of emotions - which was likely the reason one of the set lights popped and the bulb went pitch black.

Rachel swallowed, concerned about the light and apologized to one of the other crew members that was about to deal with it. Lance had that sort of effect on people and unfortunately, Rachel wasn't special enough to avoid it.

Of course Lance knew the exact effect he had one people, though generally this? Was new to him. Blinking up at the sudden pop of lights, frowning before continuing over regardless. Not to torment, he wasn't a monster, but to check up on the younger as he'd heading over to do in the first place.

"Hey, woah, I come in peace." He half teased, holding his hands up a moment, grinning teasingly before shaking his head.

He wondered if Lance meant the statement or not and frowned. There really was no hiding form him today, was there? Sighing, Rachel steeled himself and said in a flat tone, "Hi Lance."

There was a brief thought of maybe he should pretend to be too busy to talk but that didn't feel right. Not when he was actively using his powers to move things and cut down on crew assistance and time. "You look...normal."

"Hey, thanks. You look-"He paused, giving the other a quick glance over before hesitating. Not to struggle for compliments-those he could do easy-but to make sound...less that, actually. "Amazing actually, did you do something new with your hair?"

Tilting his head hoping the other would laugh at least a little bit at his attempt at a joke, Lance shrugged. "How are you holding up,anyway? Since I saw you last time?"

	It took everything not to laugh. Rachel found that laughing at the situation helped and Lance was helping there. "I did, actually. But I'm thinking of switching it back." He gave himself points for having casual conversation with the other, even though it felt like a tennis match in his chest. "I'm okay. I moved. I found out I can go some crazy stuff." 	"Yeah? That's cool. Witch stuff is..kind of amazing, actually." While her powers might not be 'witch stuff' from what little he'd seen of it? Was closest thing he had to compare it to. "I also might have..missed you a little bit." The last part was more of a whisper, the older glancing around despite no one really paying them any real sort of attention. "Does it have to be witch stuff?" he asked, frowning and scrunching his nose. Not that it was an awful term but Rachel didn't think it was along the lines of witchcraft. It felt...darker sometimes. Nevermind that it stemmed from a demon of a father. Literally. "And some of it is. Some of it is annoying though. Like the hearing and emotions." It was why moving out on his own had been the best idea. Less people around meant less things to feel and hear on a daily basis.

Even though he missed Lance and probably somewhere deep if he thought about it still had feelings for the guy, Rachel was not sharing that. He just crossed his arms and nodded. A response that could mean everything and nothing all at once.

"Well, whatever you call it, its still awesome." He shrugged, not wanting to upset the younger but not knowing what else her gifts could be summed up as. "Wait like a physic or whatever the fuck? holy shit" If he hadn't been amazed before, he sure was now.

Pausing at the reaction, he sighed, shaking his head. "Its the truth, ok?" Not that he'd ever really lied-not outwardly anyway.

He thought maybe he'd mentioned it before but Rachel chalked it up to it not being impressive. Or weird. Weird certainly made people want to forget or ignore things. "Like that but...louder. And I can't control it very well." He shrugged, frowning at the thought as he fiddled with the headphones around his neck. They were his back up, thanks to his old family. His adoptive one where he was actually from.

"I know it is. But I also know you have a new girlfriend. And look at me. I'm barely me. I'm... I'm guy me." Rachel sighed. It was a combination of what she could hear from him and what she'd seen on the town's network. Rachel was a good investigator like that.

Lance, of course, thought it was amazing in general. A little bit frightening, due to the circumstances-after the other had used it towards his general person at the time but..

Still, the look in his eyes dropped slightly at Ravens words. Not that he'd gone around telling anyone he and E were dating just yet-"....Because of your witchery powers?" He questioned, making a gesture as his tone dropped to a near whisper.

"That's exactly why, yeah." It was just too bad the whole being a guy thing couldn't be linked back to the magic. Then maybe he could fix it and feel less insecure. Though, the insecurity had more to do with Lance in front of him and talking to him. A weird part of Rachel's mind wondered if he liked him better this way but then what would that even mean because wasn't he still the same person as he was as a female?

Rachel's mind was spinning, and he shut his eyes to suck in a breath. He held it for a second and let his mind and spirit wander for a moment. Maybe if he could feel the little bits of excitement Lance seemed to have over the magic, he could relax.

	Of course Lance didn't care either way, the older man thought Raven was neat either way, really. "That is seriously amazing. Uh. And maybe a little scary." Pausing, he glanced around, despite no one really batting an eye at them. "Look, maybe..maybe dont tell anyone about the girlfriend thing for a while?" He questioned softly. 	Rachel almost said 'good' when Lance called it a little scary. Maybe that was the solution to their boy problem. Just have him think he's scary. Then Lance might avoid him. "Why not?" he asked, eyes narrowing because that certainly sounded suspicious. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"I haven't exactly told anyone I'm dating yet." Rubbing the back of his head, he shot the other a sheepish look. Partly because it was part pleading look as well. Sure, he might have pulled the same shit when he'd been with the younger girl but-

"Just...keep it hush hush for a tiny bit longer." The words rolled off his tongue forgetting, for a wild moment, that his newfound 'gift' didn't seem to have a limit or an off switch
