[info]isitthesmile: Meta, Worldbuilding, and ... stuff -- Time Lords, Chameleon Archs and William

Please note a lot of this was things I was idly considering at four in the morning, so please, if it doesn't make sense, that's why. Who am I talking to? Damned if I know. Anyone who might stumble onto my community would probably know of my insanity and lack of sense already. Okay, getting way off-topic here. Which this meta does a lot of. This is basically my own reference, so if it goes around in loops and circles, that's cause I'm just trying to make sense of things.

Also note that I have never watched Human Nature/Family of Blood at the time of typing this. I may edit it if/when I do. I have read the script!

My principal of the Chameleon Arch is this -- when it comes down it, the formula for a Time Lord is:

Memory + Biology = Time Lord

You could get more complicated (if you want to be real specific, the formula as I believe it should be (past regenerations)(current regenerations)(culture) = personality; (culture)(memory) + biology = time lord but this is why I don't do meta after algebra) but that basically covers it. Culture counts in with memory; what is culture but shared communal memories and behaviors? (I'm sure some psychiatrist is rolling in his grave at my awkward phrasing, but.)

To be even more simple about it?

Biology defines what you are
Memory defines who you are

Which could just be said to be a univeral truth, in my opinion. But the reason we need the formula is because when it comes to the Chameleon Arch, it rewrites not only what you are, but to some degree, who you are.

Rambles like mad under here. )

[info]isitthesmile: Character Bits: Part the First

Alter!Verse AU Master (...This verse will probably have a name before long)
[Alex] ...Somehow, I think forcibily fobwatched Master would make him ever crazier. I mean -- Yana was friendly and nice, but if he was forced into it? I don't think it would go well.
[Nina] And that would be why he'd be locked up. >>
...One of the many reasons, at least.
[Alex] ...Violence, crazy ramblings, delusions (Because you know, even when it's voluntary they can sort of remember their real selves -- if it was forced? I think it would be even worse)...

[Nina] ....I have a feeling these two aren't going the be one of the pairs that are allowe in polite company. >>
[Alex] ....Oh, absolutely not. They -- yeah. For one thing, I really think human!Master will be even more violent than the Master NORMALLY is. Especially with the Doctor.
[Nina] I wonder how often the Doctor keeps him drugged up.
Because there's no way in hell some kind of sedation isnt used there.
[Alex] ...Pretty often, I'm guessing.
Most of the time, quite likely, at least when other people are around.

The Johnsons
Rore, Meda, Sierra and Chris have a habit of veritaserum-ing each other whenever they feel it's neccessary. Of course, to make things fair, they generally both end up 'serumed.
