"No," Cas agreed. "And while I am aware of your being what you are, that does not mean you're not entitled to some form of happiness. You have the will to seek it out, so logic only dictates that you should find it. In some form. You...do not have to marry or mate with one who you do not desire."
If someone were to try and harm her, Castiel felt that he would defend her if possible. She was more than capable of doing so for herself and he knew that, but it was different. He was accustomed to having few, if anyone, on his side in a time of crisis. Sam and Dean were his friends. Or at least, Dean was, now that Sam was confined to the Pit. Though when he confronted himself with the question of whether or not they would help him in a time of need, he found he didn't know the answer. It was disconcerting.
Yet in terms of any interpersonal interaction, he had little to no experience. Combat was something he knew, though he was far from adept at it. He'd gotten better during the end of days through necessity to survive alone, but Uriel and Anna had always been superior on the battlefield. Balthazar had never seemed inclined towards combat at all. As for Helena's gravitation towards violence, he supposed he could teach her to control it, but in all honesty, he hoped to see her find peace above all else.
"It's...very calming," he replied. "It is a good way to contemplate one's actions and events that surround them. When thoughts become too heavy. Though I doubt children see it in the same way. Still...I think I also like it."
