She'd asked him to meet her, though for what reason, Castiel wasn't sure. "Blue" "slushies" were not a reference he understood, though it supposedly tasted good. He could have told her that he had no real need for sustenance, but that would have seemed...out of line. She was clearly raised to believe, though her actions seemed to suggest that she was either disillusioned or damaged in some other way. Admitting to murder wasn't normal. Castiel understood that. And while she was a sinner that he would have struck down a year ago, he now felt that he had no right to do so. If she hurt someone else, then perhaps.
...Yet as it was, he too had killed his own brothers and sisters. They'd been at war...but at the same time, it still felt strangely akin to murder. Technically, he had no soul or conscience to make these matters difficult, but he felt he knew better now. It wasn't simply taking orders. That wasn't what free will entailed.
Shoving his hands into the pockets of his coat, he simply stood there and waited. It was...quiet. The beetles were arguing, but not about anything of any real import. And there was a cat in one of the apartments whose thoughts he could hear, but those primarily consisted of "Please open this window so I can escape." Castile felt such a thought was foolish - the cat lived on the third floor and it would be dangerous for it to jump down.
He supposed he should have been thinking of Helena too and whether or not she would be a threat, but somehow he didn't feel she would be. Even if she did attack him, it would have to be with his own blade, and from the sound of things, she seemed...lost. Not alone, but he still understood somewhat. Dean was here along with Jo, but that didn't help him feel any less lost either. And Helena seemed as though she needed a friend.
Castiel had once been told he wasn't a "fun" friend, but he wished to help in some form. And he liked Helena, despite the fact that she was a sinning abomination. She was kind to him. The least he could do was show her the same courtesy.
