Ever since he was young, Remus had spent a lot of his time in libraries. From being taken by his Mother as a child, to the spectacular shelves and hideaways of the Hogwarts library, it was a habit that had continued right up until his current maxed out card with Scarborough library. Being able to hide away behind a mountain of books had always been Remus’ go-to method of relaxation – there had once been a time where it was the only place he was guaranteed some peace, what with James and Sirius’ love of endless chatter. And Merlin knew he needed that kind of escape now, if just to get his head straight.
He’d pulled down as many books as he could about the local area, its history, local myths and legends – anything, really, which might provide some kind of clue. Although rapidly coming to the conclusion that being here was much preferable to his lonely existence back at home, Remus still wanted to understand what was happening. Especially this whole time-displacement thing. Appearing in a completely new country was one thing, but having your dead best friends living on your doorstep was quite another.
So Remus was solidly planted on one of the tables in the library, his head bowed and supported on one pale hand as he trawled through endless paragraphs of small, cramped text. He was so engrossed that he didn’t hear the sound of footsteps approaching.
