Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry

hey all! i thought i'd post something here to see if i couldn't get a few more lines before (hopefully) getting into the game.

this is madison hix, though she generally goes by madi, and she's a transplant to new york by way of houston, texas. she graduated from texas a&m with degrees in environmental design and urban & regional planning and currently works for Beyer Blinder Belle Architecture & Planners LLP. personality wise, she's extremely multi-faceted. she is very aggressively ambitious, and goal driven. basically, she'll stop at nothing to get what she wants, and has a bit of a sordid love affair with proving people wrong. it's kind of what she lives for. if someone tells her she can't do something, she will work even harder than usual to show them that she absolutely can. however, hailing from the south, she can also be incredibly charming when there's a need for it, or when she needs to use that to her advantage. while i wouldn't say she's "the token bitch," she has her moments (like everyone else). with friends and family, though, she's loyal to a fault. she will do anything for the people she cares about, and she has a very protective/mama bear-ish nature, especially where it concerns her twin brother (who will also be coming into the game, hopefully), [info]maddoxhix. she's a junk food addict, lives on coffee/energy drinks, a bonafide workaholic, lover of all things horror and sci-fi, a gamer junkie (when she has time), and... she's currently engaged to [info]calebandrew (premade is "the bridezilla and her groom"). that's pretty much it, i think. any other information can be found in her bio here, and i'm open to any and all suggestions for connections that anyone wants to throw my way.

i definitely don't mind saying that her dad's family came from texas either, so it's up to you whether it's going to be from madi's mom or dad's side. but yeah, she's one who is also loyal to a fault so if they did clash at times, there would be a deep love and loyalty there despite any of that. pera just doesn't take peoples bs, so she'd call madison out on being a bridezilla and tell her to calm the eff down! :x

maybe from her mom's side would be easier since there's no maiden name or anything for her, and it'd be easier to fit that in. they are very similar in that respect, it sounds. madi has a very low tolerance for bs where it concerns others, even if at times she's guilty of it herself with her attitude, especially with all the wedding planning craziness. i can see pera being one of the few people that stand up to her and tell her to calm down when she's getting a little too out of control, and also being one of the few people that she'll eventually listen to.

i like the sound of all of that. she's been in the city for about the last ten years or so, and maybe they'd visit texas during the summers when they were younger so they had somewhat of an established relationship already. pera would have been all kinds of excited to see family in new york, she's sort of ostracized herself from her immediate family, so it would be good for her to have somewhat of a connection.

madi (and maddox) have only been in the city for about a year/year and a half now, so i can see them possibly leaning on pera in the beginning to help them find their way around. perhaps when they were younger and pera's family would visit texas, and because of the age difference, despite being so head strong madi would try and mimic pera/tag along with her, etc., and she still looks up to her even now?

i love the sound of all of that. she has a younger sister who she doesn't talk to anymore (but misses quite a lot, despite her being in denial of it), so i can definitely see madi filling more of that role now that they're in the same area.

as do i. and madi, being the "older" twin and used to taking care of/looking out for maddox would... how do i explain this? i feel like she would enjoy the reprieve of feeling like she has to take care of everyone/thing when she's around pera. this is also probably why pera would likely be one of the few that could actually get her to calm down, as mentioned previously.

that all totally makes sense. pera's always been a bit of a mother hen in some sense to her younger siblings, so that would definitely carry down to her cousins as well. can't wait to have them interact!
