Ka- Walter o'Dim Intro post OPEN
The Gunslinger neared the Tower. Ka had dealt his Ka-tet a bitter hand. Walter had read those cards long ago. It was time to spring the trap, Roland would not get to the top of the Tower if Walter could help it. The Man in Black had other plans for the Crimson King. After all the centuries scurrying around the wheel like some grasseater in the wastelands, it was time for Walter of Endworld to become Walter of Allworld.

He drew a sigil on a rough stone wall, resonating lost words from another time. A door opened into the Todash darkness, planning to reappear in the top of the Tower, to either slay an injured Crimson King, or a triumphant gunslinger. The power of the door drew him in and he knew something was terribly wrong.

Walter's way was magick, the energy of the Prim. It was capable of many wondrous things, but reacting with science it could have unfortunate side effects. Centuries before, North Central Positronics had created a teleportation gate at the same spot. Ka was finally visiting itself on the Nameless Stranger.

North Central Positronics found that creating a portal so close to the junction of the Beam was so unreliable that travelers were as likely to end up anywhere. They thoughtfully bricked up the opening, making sure the work matched the rest of the stone wall. It was these little careful details that separated them from other corporations.

Walter was drawn into the door. Instead of just hearing the Todash chimes in his head, a mechanical disembodied voice happily piped up as well. "North Central Positronics thanks you for your patronage. Transport gateway 19, activated." Walter had just enough time to realize what he had done before he blacked out. "19, acti..."

An unconscious gaunt black clad figure was spit out of an unseen door into the City. He bounced off of the side of a building, and crumpled to the ground.

The bells stopped screaming in his ears. He was stuck in Todash space, lost forever in the darkness between worlds. Lost until some unseen horror would hunt him down that is.

He felt someone shaking him, speaking to him. The language was not of Endworld, nor was it of the High Speech. It was the tongue of the lowmen, of the cattle he lead as Flagg. He was not lost in oblivion, that was a good thing. But where was he?

"Thankee Sai, I am fine" He remembered to slip into the tongue of the other world. " Blood trickled down his forehead touching his lips.
It had been a long time since he had tasted his own blood.

He tried to stand up. His limbs worked, but he was being talked to be three men that looked very much alike. He slumped against the wall clearing his vision. "Cry your pardon sa.. sir, where am I?" He locked his eyes on his attendant. Not sure if this man was trying to help him, or was a harrier trying to take his Gunna.

He began to steady, glad he did not lose any teeth.

Wilson frowned slightly at the strange speech of the man, but quickly shrugged it off. After meeting tv show characters and homicidal literary figures, what was one more idiosyncrasy?

"You're in...well, the City. It's another dimension that seems to draw in people - and things - from different backgrounds just to see what's going to happen."

Wilson carefully laid a hand on the man's shoulder, hanging up on the squawking emergency line operator who was trying to demand his name and location.

"Do you remember how you got here? What you were doing before you got hurt?"

The medicine man spoke of dimensions, and being drawn to this city. He had known of many levels of the Tower, and he must be speaking of the same.

What could it hurt. He straightened. "I was traveling." He paused "Todash, in the darkness between the worlds. Something happened and I was drawn here. Perhaps a thinny where a door once existed"

He sniffed at the air and spat. It reminded him of the decay of Lud. "Who is the king of this city Sai?" He stood uncomfortably close to the other man "My name is Walter, and I have a proposition for him"

Walter's icy smile was almost predatory.

Wilson nodded his head slowly. Maybe the man did have a brain injury. Or maybe his world was just that different from anything the doctor had ever known.

"King? I, uh, I don't know that there is one. There used to be a mayor but I think she disappeared and now I have no idea who's in charge. They would probably know at the library or newspaper office."

The doctor withdrew a little at the cold expression in the eyes of the man in black.

"Everyone seems to get here a different way. You seem to be one of the ones that fall out of the sky rather than open a door or wake up here. Lucky you, I guess."

A concerned look crept into Wilson's eyes.

"Are you sure you're feeling all right? Do you need help finding anything?"
