Moving Day...Again (Bruce)
Enigma bounced as she waited for Bruce to catch up, eager to head into the building and check out their new home...and molest the shiny, shiny toys. “Come on, Brucey, you’re sloowwwww!” she said, bouncing more, to the point where she was almost losing the box in her arms. “I want in, I want in, I want in...”
Granted, she could just walk in, but Bruce had the access to the floor they needed until Enigma was fully integrated to the security around their floor and she was anxious to get going.
Bruce was excited that Enigma was eager to relocate from the warehouse into a more accessible place like Stark Tower, plus it was going to be nice having two people he cared about living under the same roof together. Not to mention all of the things science related that were about to go down with all of the advanced tools that Tony owned. It was nice having a billionaire for a best friend.
"I'm coming, hang on." Bruce said with a laugh, catching up to Enigma. They wouldn't need very much, just the essentials that Enigma would need, because Tony had basically set up the room for Bruce with everything he could ever need. Bruce approached the door where Enigma was standing, entered the code to the door, and walked into the foyer, finding the temperature to be perfect.
He held the door open for Enigma, and once she was inside, Bruce moved over to the elevator. He set down the box he'd been carrying, and opened the elevator, shoving the box in with his foot, pulling Enigma into the small contraption. It was uncomfortable to say the least, but she didn't have full access yet. "Jarvis, take us to the green floor, please." He said aloud to the AI that Tony used, earning a "certainly, Dr. Banner." In reply.
He waited until they reached the floor and about ran out of the elevator, calming his breathing, before holding the door open for her. He swept a hand at the room, offering her a smile, "welcome home."
Enigma had yelped when she was tugged into the lift, before actually squealing when Jarvis spoke, bouncing slightly as they raised up. Watching Bruce bail from the lift, she laugh, shaking her head. “Honestly,” she said, but didn’t comment further, instead setting her boxes down and jumping on Bruce, kissing him deeply. “Our home.” she said with a wide grin.
Their home...connected to state of the art labs, funded by the richest man in existence...who happened to be Bruce’s best friend and pretty enough eye candy that she could ignore that fact. “We really need to change the colour scheme,” she said, making a face at all the white, before crossing over to the large windows that took up a wall, staring out over the city, a soft, truly happy smile on her lips.
She turned back to Bruce, the setting sun glinting off her red hair. “This is perfect, Bruce.”
They had a whole floor to themselves and Bruce was still sort of intimidated by it, considering Tony was being more than generous to both of them. He held onto Enigma when she jumped on him and kissed her in return, glad they had decided to move in after all. He had wanted to before, but he wouldn't leave Enigma behind, which is what he told Tony in the first place. Tony had won, of course, which was usual for the man. He pretty much got what he wanted, and Bruce was okay with that, so long as there were rules.
Tony had left the walls bare and white so they could be customized to the inhabitants desires, "we can paint them, I don't think Tony will mind." He said, wondering if all of the other avengers quarters looked like this. He knew they were all unique, on some level.
He let her go so that she could explore the rest of the floor, "if you want, I can go back and get the rest of your stuff." He said, which would let her explore on her own. His devices were already in a corner of Tony's lab, almost crude looking machines in comparison to what was there before.
“Repainting is a must,” she said with a nod before glancing back at Bruce. “That would be fine,” she said, knowing this gave her a chance to set up some of the things Bruce would probably rather not know about. Tony had given her lab space for most of her tech gear, but there were some...projects that she didn’t trust out of her arm reach.
“Do NOT forget the clothing boxes, lover...unless you want me to parade around naked,” she flicked her tongue at him, grabbing her laptop and diving onto the bed, getting Jarvis’ help (after another squeal) to access her computers that were resting in her lab, transferring some files.
"Got it!" He called back, using the elevator to go back to the first floor, to get the rest of their stuff. He was just going to have to get used to the idea of using the elevator, especially when Enigma was around. He didn't quite know if she could operate the elevator, but he figured that she probably could, she would need it to get places in the building.
He got to the first floor, and went outside, gathering up the remaining boxes of clothes, which there weren't many left, and hauled them into the building, setting all of them in the elevator neatly. He rode back up with the boxes, pushing them into the room once he had made it back, and moved all of them in.
"Want help unpacking?" He asked her, willing to help. Again.
She had taken advantage of his leaving to set up a few of her things that Bruce was better off not knowing about, including hacking into the city’s feeds again, wiring them through her laptop once she had made sure Jarvis wasn’t snooping (he had access to her lab computers, she wanted one computer he couldn’t pry into), looking up from watching Marcus pick his nose back at the warehouse and nodding.
Setting the laptop aside she slid off the bed, bouncing over to him and the boxes before selecting her box of jewelry, setting that aside in a safe spot. “Never pictured you as the folding clothes type,” she teased, opening one of the boxes to reveal lacey cloth.
She started pulling out the skirts and dresses, hanging some of them in the closet, most going in the dresser carefully. “I can’t wait to see my lab,” she confessed, glancing at Bruce. “I imagine it’ll be better than what I created at the warehouse...Stark has more experience with it.”
He set boxes around her, so she would have easy access to the things inside of them, pulling out one dress that seemed to be made only of ribbon and tape, holding it up, "where do you wear this one?" He asked, half joking, half serious. He definitely didn't approve of that one, especially considering they had just recently gotten another room mate.
Maybe helping her unpack wasn't a good idea. He set the dress back into the box, ignoring the fact that it was made of barely anything, and looked out of the window instead, taking in the view of the city for a moment.
When she mentioned her lab, Bruce nodded, "you're going to like it here, Enigma. He has everything you could ever need."
"I hope so..." she said, biting her lip before turning to look at him, raising an eyebrow at his actions. She set down one of her skirts, crossing the room and wrapping her arms around his waist from behind. "What's wrong, lover? I thought you'd like that dress...I was going to wear it for you," she teased, rubbing her cheek against his back.
