oh, now you're just taking things too far. (eric)
Lestat did not need as much rest as younger vampires of his kind did; in fact, he'd mostly gotten away from the Hells Bells of his youth, from the sound of dawn approaching feeling like a death knell.

But sleep he did, shortly after the sun came up, and he'd wake just before sunset. Fully fed and strong, he could withstand the sun--and had, in the dessert. The sun still put him to sleep, though, whether he wanted it to or not. There was only so hard he could fight it.

When he awoke this evening, in his beautifully appointed apartment made to look just like his home in New Orleans, something caught his eye. He was reaching into the wardrobe for a jacket and shirt to wear, something eye-catching.

That was when he saw it.

The heart on the mirror. A lipstick-drawn heart. And a square in the middle, a picture.

Holding his chosen garments, Lestat crossed the room in the blink of an eye, grabbing the picture up.

Eric. Eric in the park. During the day.

Lestat growled. It was a low, angry, predatory growl.

The clothes were donned in a flash. And he was out the door in a blur. Eric was out during the day? Eric, whose particular brand of vampire was so vulnerable to the sun?

Once he was on the street, he pursued Eric with a single-mindedness that rivaled actual obsession.

"The obnoxious lust has passed." Eric offered. "But other than that, no. I can tell no immediate difference."

He imagined now what Lestat had been thinking about. His pair of humans. Sharing with them the things that not only he had spoken of, but what Eric had stated as well. The thing that he had told Beauty about and had gotten such a blush in return.

"Perhaps nothing has changed. Perhaps it's something I'll discover when I least expect it."

Lestat chuckled. Obnoxious lust.

"Something always changes," Lestat said. "Any time blood is exchanged."

His tone suggested that this was not always a good thing. "I'm sure it's changed me, too."

He smirked at the idea of possibly being able to do some of the things he knew Eric could. Walk in the sun. Have sex....

"That's what I'm hoping for." Eric nodded. He'd come up with this little experiment to see what would happen to himself, but that didn't mean he wasn't curious about what might happen to Lestat as well. They were mixing species here, there couldn't just not be any reaction. That flew against science. Hell, one or both of them ending up almost dead from the exchange would have been more welcome than nothing. Though, if that was going to happen, he thought it would have already.

"As I said, you might be able to walk in the day for a little while, but don't expect it to stay forever. That part isn't mine. At best on my own I can wander about in the day hours and get the bleeds after a bit. I can't walk in the sun without problems. I can be out for a while, but eventually it would kill me. Not to mention that it hurts."

Eric thought of what the sun had felt like prior to Baba's blood. He would have shuddered if he'd been human.
