He had to lean in to kiss her back, but that wasn't a problem. His legs felt mostly like jelly as it was. And kiss her he did, with relief and reckless abandon. His free arm wrapped around her back, pulling her closer, tightly, as he relished the kiss, for a moment forgetting all the time that had passed between this and the last one.
He didn't draw back until he was out of breath. He'd missed her. stars and stones, hell's bells, and empty night, how he'd missed her. "Dinner?" he said, not ready to let her go just yet. "Maybe tomorrow? You probably want to get back to Jake tonight."
