...then have a really awkward hangover. (Murphy/Dean)
Sleeping in Harry's bed, seeing him try to stretch out the kinks--and not in a fun way--after sleeping on the too-short couch for weeks was getting old. Knowing she was a trespasser on another woman's turf was also getting old. Especially when it didn't take much to guess that said woman was tiptoeing around her. It wasn't as if either of the three of them had anything to hide from one another.

Harry was alive and well. Murphy had her reassurance that he wasn't going to disappear, nor was she going crazy. Now, it was time to move on to plan B. Which was to go back to what she had been planning to do before Harry had gone missing: Go get really drunk, and then have sex with the first reasonably healthy male who walked by.

Sitting at the bar, in a little red blouse and black skirt that she'd bought with magical money that appeared out of nowhere, she was working on the drunk part. Now, she was keeping her eye out for reasonably the healthy male. And if anyone so much as whispered 'cougar' in her general direction, she was going to break something.

"Uh...as in possessed?" She grimaced. "I don't know. Getting chosen to wield a holy sword is kind of a two-way partnership. You get divine backup, but they can also speak through you. Like some kind of prophecy, I guess. I just don't have a better way to describe it."

If there was one thing Murphy did not like, it was being out of control. And something Other had definitely taken hold of her for at least a short time. She wave a hand. "There is not enough alcohol in the world for this shit."

Dean motioned for the bartender to give them another round, whatever she was drinking and his beer. It didnt' take him long to finish off his first drink and start on the second, especially when he heard the bit about divine back up and prophecy. A prophet, great, at least she was hotter than Chuck. He would have to kick himself later for that thought for many reasons; at moment, he had to focus on the woman, which really wasn't that hard.

"There are other kinds of distractions, but alcohol does help." He lifted the bottle in yet another salute before downing more beer. "I could use a few distractions myself."

In all honesty, she was probably part vessel, part prophet, but was there really a word for what a Knight was? Other than Holy Knight? A conduit? Thinking about it made Murphy's head hurt.

She raised her glass to him, good, old fashioned Irish whiskey, and drank. She hadn't been really drunk since her first ex-husband had died of cancer. He'd never even told her he was sick--she'd found his Obit in the paper. But that was old news. "Here;s to distractions," she said, "I'm Murphy, by the way."

"Murphy. Dean." The hunter gave him one of those smiles that suggested just what sort of distractions he was considering at the moment. Such touching her shoulders, brushing her hair out of the way, and kissing her neck. They could go further, he wanted the distractions to go further.

"I was thinking of getting fall off my ass drunk, maybe find chick to take somewhere for a couple hours..." He looked at her; he knew this particular play was a bit of a long shot. "But, really, I could skip right over the drinking to distracting one very attractive woman in ways that talking is more of an option than a necessity."

Murphy smiled, the lazy sort of smile that said she could break Dean's arm in eleven places if she hadn't wanted the attention he was currently paying her. If she'd been a cat, she would have been purring.

"Lucky for you," she quipped, "I was thinking the same thing. Minus the chick part. But you'll do nicely." She just hoped he didn't get too drunk and pass out on her. "Your place? Or should I get us a room?"

She sure as hell wasn't taking him back to Harry's.

"Well, you can get us a room, or I can." Dean didn't seem bothered by the smile; he'd gotten it from more than one woman and a couple men in the past. It wasn't that new. He took another sip of beer before dipping into his pocket to pull out the bills that would cover their check.

"You sure about the chick? We could probably find a third, not that we need it, I'm sure." It'd been a while since he actually picked some woman up, and while he could have done a better job at seduction, he didn't feel like wasting the time. Thankfully, neither did she.

He wasn't about to take her back to his place. It wasn't his place, and he really didn't want to explain to Dinah about it. His landlady didn't seem like the type to give him trouble about bring women over; he just didn't want to chance it. Plus, it was safer the woman didn't know where he lived.

"And glad I could be of service, Murphy."

"All right then, you find us a place, and we can rock-paper-scissors over who gets to pay," Murphy agreed, but she shook her head about the threesome. "I don't feel like sharing tonight."

Or ever. It was bad enough her second ex-husband had married her younger sister. But she didn't need to get into that either.

"How bout I just pay for it?" The hunter really didn't want to think about a game he usually played with his brother when it came to deciding who should do what and when. He wanted his brother no where near this particular party.

"That's fine by me." He took a step away from the bar and looked at her. "Ready to blow this taco stand?"

Murphy rolled her eyes again. "Fine, if that's the way you want to play it." She smirked at his particular phasing, like she might be persuaded to blow something before the night was through.

But she just nodded, and slid down from the bar stool, all five feet and barely any change. "Lead the way, hot shot."

"There's a place round the corner, or it was when I came in." Dean didn't offer his arm, or his hand; he just started walking to the door, but he didn't rush out. He made sure she was close by. She was so short, yet the way she moved...yeah, she knew what she was doing, and she could probably pack a punch.

"Well, if you'd rather pay." He wasn't a chauvinist, not exactly; he just didn't want to play rock-paper-scissors with the woman he was about to have sex with. He hoped it was good sex, but at the moment, he didn't care.

"It's all right," she said, moving close to him as they walked. "I'll let you wear the pants for now. Just until I can get you out of them."
