The State of the Dawn
Dawn is not doing so well. So poorly she's talking in third person.
Ahem.
My cat had a pleural effusion. Or will have again... hard to say. These things are never good. They tapped 1/3 liter of fluid off from around his lungs. The fluid is at the lab for testing right now to see what would have caused it and if it's terminal. Right now he's resting comfortably but I have some difficult decisions to make depending on the results of the labs.
On top of that, on Thursday morning, I'm leaving for Dragon*Con in Atlanta. Which normally is a happy thing, but I really, really don't want to leave my ailing cat at home where something might go horribly wrong while I'm gone. I'm pretty sure it will kill me emotionally if I have to make the call to have him put down in Wisconsin while I'm in Georgia.
These horrible things run through my mind like crazy. I'm not sleeping well, I'm not writing well, I'm not doing well at all. I owe a replies, and one new thread and I'll try to get on that today. But I'm not doing anything else new until I get back from Dragon*Con on the 6th of September.
I'm trying to look at the positive: Fizgig may be fine, I'm going to Dragon*Con and get to see Cary and Kate, I'm going to the NFL Season Opener here in Green Bay on the 8th, and I'm going to start teaching dance in three weeks... but it's hard.
I'll be on AIM for the next few days if anyone wants to plot for when I get back.
