1) Oh, dear goodness me, those croissants from the corner bakery just before the bookstore I work at! Oh, those are delightful!

2) I lied to my father when we moved into the country. I told him everything would be just fine, everything would be all right. I knew that it would be very difficult, especially for my sisters, but I just couldn't bring myself to tell Father this. I think he knew anyway.
