Todd shook his head. "Jesus," he said. "They'd rather have no kids than gay kids." He let that sink in for a moment. He'd often wondered whether he'd truly been rejected because he was homosexual, or if it was just that he wasn't Liam, and therefore wasn't good enough. Knowing the truth, that his parents were just homophobic bigots eased a lot of the bitterness Todd has harbored toward his brother over the years, but it was hardly comforting. How could two people whose genes had created two gay men turn on them so completely, and without apology? It was incredibly sad.
