Dylan's Saturday wasn't exactly along the same lines. His work schedule during the week meant early mornings, almost always, and sometimes early days on the weekend too--but that Saturday he'd taken off and had quite easily indulged in sleeping in until almost noon. He'd been woken up by his girlfriend's son, passing on a message that she was going to step out for lunch with friends and he had to get out of bed already. Dylan did so, grumbling, heading toward the kitchen to put together a lunch of their own for the two of them and struggling to find anything much more filling than sandwich makings. And, two bologna sandwiches later, he got dressed and headed out to the grocery store to rectify the situation, Adam in tow.
He'd been eying the potatoes, thinking how good it would be if he talked Faye into make roast potatoes that evening, finally picking up a bag and plunking it down at the bottom of his cart. Adam was nearby, trying to pick out a batch of good looking bananas across the aisle, carefully watched by Dylan. It was then that a familiar voice called out to him and Dylan grinned, turning as his young nephew launched at him. "Hey, buddy!" he grinned further, crouching and giving the boy a squeeze. Adam was approaching again by the time he straightened and he pulled the boy closer, a hand falling on his shoulder as Dylan gave Eric a nod of recognition.
