Who: Nevina and Rona
When: Early afternoon
Where: Royal apartments

Nevina picked up Rona's favorite brush, a pearl and sapphire decorated thing, and began to drag it through her princess's long, dark tresses in a motion that was likely as soothing to her as it was to Rona. She would count to a hundred and then she would be done with the brush, but chances were that she would continue playing with her hair after that. Nevina wondered if her fascination stemmed from the fact that Rona's hair was so much darker than hers, or if it was just that the texture, or because it was Rona's. Nevina often asked herself questions like this when she spent time with the other woman, and thankfully such questions had never spilled over to conversations with others. Why should it? The only people she'd spoken to about Rona as of late were her family and Priya, none of her were actually very interested. Priya was far more invested in that Kolite woman for some reason.

"Have I mentioned that I am very glad we did not go on the hunt?" Nevina questioned as she dragged the brush down, carefully untangling knots rather than just going through them as she'd have done with her own hair. She had always been more careful with Rona. The poor woman had no idea that she was just as fragile now as she'd been when she was a child and Nevina wouldn't call attention to it carelessly, not when she put so much effort into keeping her healthy. "I do not think I would have enjoyed it over much."

What she really hoped was that her sister hadn't gone. Nevina didn't quite trust Reyne around weapons and men and she had very good reason not to.

Bourne had gone on the hunt. Of course Bourne had gone, and of course if Bourne went then Alcott went them Bramwell went so as none of them appeared to be less in the eyes of any. Rona, though, saw Alcott and Bramwell both as less without truly giving any thought to the matter. She still didn't think any better of Alcott despite the fact that he'd been the one to stop Cedrych from being hurt by that horse. Any decent man would've done the same thing, so why was he being painted with the brush of a hero throughout the city for such a silly thing? Might as well praise the king's scribe for taking down every word that rolled off his tongue! Rona had been invited along, but had declined, despite the number of others who had wished to go. Let them, it did not mean she had to. She'd allowed Bourne to take Cedrych and that was enough. If they had to see Alcott and Bramwell, then let them also see that Bourne had a fine and healthy son already.

"You just did," Rona replied, smiling as she pushed away her thoughts in exchange for enjoying Nevina brushing her hair. Her other ladies she'd sent off to do whatever they wished, join the hunt for example, but Nevina had stayed. Nevina almost always did when everyone else went away, and Rona loved her for it. "You may be the only woman from Ardghal who would say she would not enjoy a hunt." There was a teasing lilt in her voice. "You are likely a better shot than half the men who went."
