Filtered against Evil Thingies
I've been thinking a bit more about the whole being fictional thing that so many people here have to deal with. I noticed a lot of you are horrified by the idea of your lives being played out as entertainment, and I get that. I mean, I know there's things I've done that I'd rather weren't out there for the world to see. But I also can't help but think that... well... I think for the people watching or reading about us, it goes deeper than just surface entertainment. I mean, how many of you have a favorite book or movie that inspires or comforts you? I bet there's a lot of people out there who take comfort in your stories, who watch your hardships and mistakes and successes, not just because it's entertaining, but because they feel they can relate. Because it's inspiring to see that they aren't alone, even if the one who could understand is fictional. Things like that give people strength. Maybe I'm way off-base here, and I know it's still a huge hole in everyone's privacy but... at least being someone's hero is a better thought than being the object of someone's sick entertainment. Right?
