I...don't know whether I would or wouldn't, but I can certainly understand her reasoning. She cares for him and doesn't want to see him hurt, which tends to happen if passionate groups go too far. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
The way I look at it is this: He's an angel. We are to him as ants are to us. Would you take an ant seriously if it asked you to walk softer? I wouldn't. Now picture that same ant that has somehow gained control of one of these firearms or explosives I've seen in more prevalence here. You'd take it's request a bit more seriously then, yes? ...Leaving aside the question of how an insect managed that. It isn't a perfect metaphor.
Ah, that does explain things a bit. I don't think it excuses how far it went, but I can at least see what he was intending, now.
