Filtered Against Baddies
Alright. A few of us were talking over this whole "We need a leader" thing, and we don't think that it's quite that simple. No one person needs to shoulder all the responsibility of leading everyone here, and there's no one person that everyone would agree about anyway. So we have an alternative idea.
And I'm opening this to everyone because we want to get a feel for what you lot think, not just try and impose something on you. That won't happen.
We form teams. Not teams to go our separate ways and do our own things, but just teams in general. And not split solely into "Punchers," "Flyers," "Techies," etc. Diverse teams. Yeah, we're naturally going to want to gravitate towards others we know, this is a given. But the best team doesn't focus on just one thing, it has people for various situations. I'm not saying that no one should be on a team with their friends, this isn't the third grade, but good sized teams can include your friends and then some.
In my world we have loads of teams. Avengers, New Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, S.H.I.E.L.D., S.W.O.R.D., apparently there's a Secret Avengers team, Thunderbolts, the list goes on. And on. And on. (Trust me, I've been on three of the teams I just listed. I'm good with teams.) I'm not saying we need a thousand different teams, but at least a few would be for the best. And yes, there's benefits to being on a team with people you know. You feel the most secure when you're surrounded by people and you know what they can do. But don't hesitate in bringing others in as well.
Now, there's a couple ways we can go about the teams thing. We can let you all figure out teams on your own or everyone can comment to another post that one of us will make (if this idea is agreed upon) with your skillset and we'll see about creating the teams from that for you.
And that's not where this idea ends. Sorry. This is turning into a novel or something.
Each team will select a leader. A leader will not be selected for them, it will be decided from within so that there isn't so much bickering at whoever makes the selections. These leaders will form a council/committee/whatever and will discuss whatever situation is going on and try to make decisions from there. They'll discuss these things both with their teams as well as with the council.
There should also be liaisons between the teams and people not on teams. (Don't worry, I'm getting to those people.) Just to make sure that communication is flowing properly and whatnot.
And for those of you who aren't fighters or just don't want to be fighters, we're not ignoring you. The liaisons will also speak to you if you don't want to talk to teams yourself. They're there to share information, after all. Also, if you aren't on a team you won't be blocked from committee/council meetings. You will be welcomed and if you have anything to say you should feel free to speak up. Just because you're not in the actual fight itself doesn't mean we're going to ignore you. You're just as important as every person that is in the fight and you deserve to know what's going on just as much as everyone else.
The only people that will have to show up at the meetings will be the team leaders. Everyone else can stay home if they want or show up if they want.
Oh, and it'd be handy if we had some sort of welcoming committee. Sometimes when people show up they sort of fall through the cracks when it comes to the spreading of info, and if they don't know what's going on then they won't know how to prepare themselves for this war we're in. So yeah. There's that.
And volunteers for the medical bay and kitchens during a crisis would be nice too.
So. Did I cover everything? I feel like I just wrote War and Peace or something here.
Oh! And for those of you who are wondering who the hell I am and why I'm sticking my nose in here, I'm Jessica Drew. Since it's not a secret here or anything I'll go ahead and tell you I'm Spider-Woman. Currently a member of the Avengers and S.W.O.R.D., former member of S.H.I.E.L.D. It's safe to say I've been doing this sort of thing for ages.
Questions? Comments? Ideas? Does this whole plan just suck royally?
