"I've not heard of a single person eating squirrel here," she said with a laugh.
Moving to the kitchen, she started with the things in the cupboared, starting to put them away in the bags and smiling softly at him. Whatever she could spare? Shaking her head, she stopped putting the food away and moving to wrap her arms around him and pressing a soft kiss to his lips.
"It is our food, not just mine. Our home, our food. I don't have to spare some for you, you're more than welcome to take whatever you like," she said with a smile. "And I know you'll be hungry, I have seen what it's like in that forest. I could cook you something once we're settled tonight."
