He selected a pair of brown patterned "pajama pants," according to the sign, and a dark green top. As he did, he laughed at himself somewhat; he had just been enjoying the opportunity to select non-foresty colors, but still found that he was most comfortable with something that would have let him disappear into Sherwood whilst he was sleeping.
The assistant had shown them the dressing rooms, where Robin could make sure everything fit. It all did, although the fastening on the trousers took him a second (how clever was that?), and soon, they were on their way out the door, and he had learned a little about the substance called "plastic," which seemed to be everywhere.
Marian took him to one more store after that, and if he had thought the clothing store was large, he was astounded at how many and varied things were offered for sale. When they left, he had another bag in hand, this one containing myriad bottles and other small objects he would apparently need. He was strangely excited to try it all out; but at the same time, he was also looking forward to just having a chance to sit and talk with Marian.
