When she kept walking before answering him, he started to grow concerned, but her answer had him smiling... for a second. He was deeply touched that she would have thought to wear a ring indicating their betrothal, even in this strange world, but-- "You bought your own engagement ring?"
As he waited outside a room she had ducked into, he had to admit the ring was pretty, if much smaller than he thought she deserved; but it was not right. When he had found work, he would have to buy her one, himself.
As she joined him again, he gestured for her to lead the way. "I guess so," he replied lightly. It wasn't as though he had options, not that he would opt against accompanying her.
