Who: Needy Lesnicki and Ruby
What: Ruby snags her kryptonite necklace.
When: Monday night.
Where: Out and about in Lawrence.
Warning: There'll probably be some language. And some violence.

For the first time in a couple of weeks, Needy went out on her own. She and Cal, her Cal, the so-called Evil Twin, had stopped off in Lawrence for the night to drop off the bags of things she had acquired thus far on their trip. But, Needy's birthday was coming up and she was looking to keep an eye out for things to get Cal to pick up for her. Personally, she didn't care if he purchased them or just stole them, as long as they were given to her in the long run.

So she was out. The weather was still warm enough that she didn't get cold in the short dress she had on as she made her way down the darkening street. She turned her head to peer in the windows of just about every shop she passed, be they shops for jewelry or guns, it didn't matter to her. Every one of them held things that she could be interested in, things that could be useful depending on the situation.

It was outside of the weapons shop that she lingered, eying a particular knife they had on display in the window. Smirking, she toyed with the idea of getting it then and there instead of waiting the handful of days until her birthday.

Ruby had gone out, just walking. Just to get away from her own thoughts mostly. She had her chance with Sam and though they weren't exactly together he'd done way more than his due in regards helping her come back from this. He'd told her he'd give her a chance. And she was still relishing that. But Lorne had given her some sound advice too. A life outside of Sam, and she knew, she did. She understood completely that he couldn't be all of her focus, she'd smother him. He'd resent it, something. But she was so used to him being her everything. It was hard.

All the same she'd picked herself up and left the apartment, walking past some kind of weapon shop. She wasn't sure if she spotted the knife or Needy first. Both were interesting enough. The knife cause she'd like a new one. Needy cause, well she suspected the woman was still hopped up on the crazy rock.

"What brought you back?" she asked casually, ready to fight if she needed to. She suspected she might need to.

Needy's first reaction to hearing someone speak to her was to roll her eyes. "Sometimes, you just get too much stuff to carry easily," she started. It was a voice that she'd only heard in person maybe once or twice, so she still had to look over to see who it was. And then she saw the demon. Her eyes narrowed at the sight of Ruby.

"Shouldn't you be off, I don't know. Snagging souls or making deals with the devil or something?" she asked, brow perking a bit as she watched her carefully. "Oh wait. I forgot. You're supposedly a good guy after all. Which, you know, that's kinda hard to believe since you were making with the Evil-All-Along routine not too long ago." Really, Needy just wanted to rush over and rip her throat out. But that'd stain her new dress, and that would be a loss. She really liked the dress she was wearing.

Ruby stepped in a little closer when Needy started to speak. Really she could care less about the stuff she might steal. She wasn't in authority and it was just stuff. If Needy wanted it Ruby didn't much care. But she was trying this whole good thing for Sam and she supposed getting the rock away from Needy fit into that. It seemed like the kind of thing Sam would do.

She had to help. And this was just like Sam wasn't it. This wasn't Needy and even if Ruby didn't like her very much it wasn't her fault that she was like this. It wasn't who she was supposed to be.

"No today no. Thought I'd hang out here and try the whole good guy thing. Don't know how good at it I'll be. Probably not very. So we should really just get to where we're getting to with this and save all the unpleasent goading in between. Give up the pretty little rock you have or I'll make you"

She could be good without being particularly nice couldn't she.

"Now, see," Needy started, smirking at the demon as she leaned against the window she had just been looking though. "I hate to disappoint you, but I really don't think that's going to happen. But hey, good luck with your whole quest to be good and all that though. I have a feeling you're going to need it." Like Needy was just going to hand over her necklace. She liked it too much for that. Plus, if it was what was letting her do whatever she wanted, then she really didn't want to hand it over.

Besides. She didn't like Ruby. She didn't like her when she was herself, she didn't like her with her red k. Ruby was a demon, and the only experience that Needy had with demons had been bad. Plus, there was the added fact that they'd found out for sure that she had been on the wrong side for a long time.

"You know what I miss about where I'm from?" Needy tilted her head to the side a bit as though she was thinking hard about this. "I miss the fact that back there, you just had to stab a demon in the heart to kill it."

Ruby shrugged, Needy could stab her if she wanted. "You stab me you join Bobby on the list of people who owe me new shirts but go right ahead." she said almost amused at the idea. Needy was something different in her own way. Demon tainted without being a demon. But that wasn't the problem now. Now she had something wrong with her beyond all that, the rock. The same kind probably that had messed Sam up. And much as she didn't much like Needy, which she didn't feel bad about. Needy didn't like her, she didn't deserve this. No one deserved to be twisted up by alien space rocks

"Either way Needy, we're fixing you. So give up the jewel or I'll take it" she said simply, a wave of her hand slamming the door behind Needy shut with a loud bang hoping to get the jump on her as she moved in to attack, unsually of course the attack was entirely justifed, even helpful.

She mostly just hoped people realised that and didn't want to kill her. That would be annoying.
