Thankfully, the street stayed empty between the site of their fight and the motel. It took her twice as long as she would've liked to get there with him, and when they finally did, she fumbled with the keys until she got the door open. Helping Pike in, she maneuvered him to the bed and helped him lay down, then grabbed the first aid kit they hadn't bothered to take back to the owner yet.
Her fingers were slippery with his blood as she pulled out bandages, kneeling next to him on the bed. "Aight, lift it up." She didn't like the amount of blood that was still coming out, and she pressed a clean cloth to it, hoping to stop the bleeding soon. A huge part of her wanted to run, just take off, but she forced herself to take care of his wound instead.
