Effie was confused, she'd found herself in a graveyard which was strange to begin with and it had taken her a moment to work out exactly what it was but then she'd decided it must be some kind of trick. By who she wasn't sure, she'd been removed from the Capitol prisons so she assumed it must be Coin. She had suspected the woman would do something but she'd expected more direct action. Not this underhand method.

Moving quickly she left the area heading towards what looked like buildings, maybe she would find some answers there. She felt out of sorts, her wigs and make up had been taken from her which had been bad but then the questions and pain had started. She knew nothing, Haymitch had kept her in the dark but that hadn't stopped Snow. When she'd been released thanks to the rebels she had been different, trying to be happy for Katniss when she had seen the young girl but she knew she hadn't fooled her. She looked different in more ways than just her clothing.

Leia smiled at Effie in response to the comment of her name being pretty, there seemed to be an instant connection for some reason. It could be because Effie was new and when Leia arrived she felt like everyone else knew so much more, but now she was the knowledgeable one.

She was sad when Effie referred to her possessions at home and Leia's mind quickly was drawn back to what she had left behind, not by choice of course. Her thoughts drifted into frustration towards the seal as she commented 'Well I had just got home from my honeymoon, so it was an interesting time I was brought here.'

Again she felt it was right to continue with 'It was the seal that bought all of us here including you. You will probably hear the seal being referred to, there is a lot of emotion around what it has done and what it continues to do for people here.'

Leia could have gone into a full blown rant on the subject, but stopped herself, now was not the time. Effie needed to find some stability, like we all do. 'We all help one another here to get back on our feet. Your lucky since the earthquake, a new housing complex has been built so you should be able to find a place to stay.

She was hoping Effie would not decide to stay too far aware, although she curse herself for not settling properly in the new complex. 'As for money or a job, I can put you in touch with some people who are looking for individuals depending on their skill set, there is a nice person call Mr Stark here. He has helped me get in touch for a job'.

Effie felt the connection too and was thankful for it, it helped her feel less alone in this strange place. And her new companion seemed to be willing to share what she knew.

"The seal? What exactly is that?" she asked, because it wasn't clear to Effie if it was a thing like a machine or a person or what? It must be powerful though to have trapped everybody here.

"Oh well that is reassuring, I was worried I may be homeless" Effie said though her smile dimmed a little at the mention of jobs. "I'm not sure I have many transferable skills" she admitted with a small blush.

Leia felt her face change as Effie asked what the seal was. She was more annoyed at herself for not asking that question sooner. Maybe it was because she did not want to know, or face the reality that there was nothing she could do to stop the seal doing what it does...messing up everyone's lives.

She looked at Effie, slightly embarrassed 'Honestly, I am still trying to work that one out for myself. I think if you asked anyone here they might give a different answer, I know its responsible for practically all of the unusual events that go on here.'

Leia was aware that she had probably confused Effie with this and felt the need to continue to explain 'My understanding is its a magical force that effect everyone in Lawrence in different ways, since I have been here, people have acted differently than they normally would and on a separate occasion, spoken like pirates.'

Leia looked at her new friend with empathy when she blushed whilst talking about jobs. 'I was a diplomat at the beginning of my career, I'm not sure there is much call for those here, so I would not concern yourself too much. Most are quite tolerant of the variety of people here.'

It was at this point she realised, she had not spoken to another being like this for a little while and she missed it. She was pleased that she had found someone she could call a friend.

"Right, so some kind of magical force is keeping us here" she nodded, that was understandable even if the other things weren't quite so understandable. She knew the Capitol had done many things but they'd never been able to make people act differently, well except perhaps for highjacking but then that took time, it wasn't something which just happened overnight.

"That is reassuring, it doesn't sound like my experiences would be helpful here at all" Effie admitted, but it sounded like her new friend Leia was in a similar situation. She was pleased this woman had been the one to discover her.
