Damien had actually not even went to a club. He wanted to. He even planned on it. He didn't need powers to go out, but they sure helped. With safety and.. other ways. But without them, he could enjoy things like other people did. That was the plan. But then it seemed other people overreacted, first with name insults, which he just shook his head at as if he were a teacher in class. And others who disapproved too. He wondered if they also spoke to others who were the same way, as Damien was almost certain he wasn't the only person in the universe posting such topics. He really saw no way to do more than he had. He doubted anyone knew how to fix this, or if they did, they'd post it.. and he had been checking. He could sense a bit of hostility, though wasn't sure why. And he also pondered the words too. About not deserving powers. Maybe he didn't. His.. gifts.. weren't really rainbows and puppies, they could do great damage if he fully let go when using it. He supposed if people knew his whole story, perhaps they agree it was best he didn't get the powers back. If he had them now, he could show just much much he wasn't an insect, show the whole damn world just what he could really do, demonstrate the full range of his power. But no.. that was bad. It was. He was trying not to be very bad, he had a place here, and any other way would jeopardize his living arrangements. So he'd use it for personal stuff or if someone asked him to. So now he would wait until more data was found. Or he could offer to help research it.. maybe. He did like books once. Years ago.
He had been making food in between checking posts and comments. It was pizza rolls at first. That was when he had saw the other post with the.. images. He liked looking at those. But the conversations there were.. interesting. Though what was that thing he said to the other younger guy? 'Things will be better'? Where did that come from? Damien had been talking around about going out for fun, but that part.. weird. Perhaps he really was trying to be nice. He could tell not everyone was normal. He just felt like trying to speak a little hope amidst the crazy stuff. After finishing that, he had cooked and prepared a couple burritos, filled with beans and cheese. He felt something in the pit of his stomach. Like a stab, but.. somehow dulled. Like a heaviness. Nevermind the headache he had earlier. It was mostly gone, but he felt it again. And he had his air conditioner up high. How strange, this summer weather felt warmer than the usual.
After downing a glass of orange juice, he checked for another reply, to see... well. Pathetic, was he? "Great," he mumbled under his breath as he punched his table, "last time I try to be nice for a while." He winced, feeling the pain in his knuckles, the bruise on them. That wasn't helpful. He needed to get out. Like he'd said he was several times. Why had he not gone yet? He wasn't sure. It was almost like he was putting it off for some reason. But yes.. it was time to go. As he walked, holding his head, he stopped. "No, not now.." He felt heavy. He needed something. Medicine, maybe they had some in the main kitchen or in the medical bay. Yeah.. he should go there. And so he slowly walked out his door and shut it, glancing to see the 304 number on it. The young man had a feeling clubs were a no-go tonight. He needed.. something, dammit. Anything to make him better and not.. this. His steps seemed sluggish, but he made himself go, one foot in front of the other. His head was pounding. He felt a bit hazy in his vision, like seeing lights and feeling lighter, and hot. He held an arm around his waist, feeling the tension in his gut even more so. How did humans ever make it through this?? It was a mystery, answers eluded him on that issue. What the hell was he thinking when he entertained the idea of this being a good thing in disguise?
He took a few more steps and gasped, needing to stop immediately. He wondered if anyone was still in their rooms. He knew that his own door was between the ones where Cal and Andrea resided. Spike and Andrew had rooms too, along with Clary and Star. Or Azula? But wait, she was the queen, maybe she changed rooms. And of course maybe their friends were visiting them on this floor. Or maybe everyone was out now, dealing with this problem or being evil and partying on. Way his luck was going, he was probably the only person on this floor right now. All he knew was that he hated this feeling right now. He whispered under his breath, "Take that back, guess this is pathetic after all.. we're only human." He laughed. Then he sank down to his knees and brought his knees up, resting his chin on them as he held arms around his waist. He blinked as his vision cleared, but his face was sweating (along with his skin under the shirt). He was intensely warm. What was that.. another thing he didn't know. He coughed, shaking his head. He hoped this was a dream, that it was fake, that he'd be himself again, everyone would have their powers back, people wouldn't be evil or rude or just annoying. That it would be back the way it should be, with people living here and trying to stop the end, as well as Hunter training. He was just taking a rest. That's all, he'd get up in a few minutes and walk again. But he felt such weight that he didn't really feel like rising up again. Maybe that wasn't long enough. Yeah, he would wait longer.. maybe twenty minutes? Thirty? Yeah, he'd do that. Then he'd eventually make his way to more medicine. Or back into his room, whatever came first. He just.. well... didn't really feel like moving right at this second. But soon. Possibly.
