================
Damien Thorn liked familiarity. Routine could be good. And this one in particular, it was something he had done before a year or two ago. And he had been quite good at it. He remembered this task in his home world too. He'd offer to substitute for one of the cadets in military school if they got sick; thankfully, Damien never had that issue. And there were some times in Yale where he'd opt for a similar activity there as well, though rarely. He'd been more occupied with student government in that institute, improving things, getting elected, making more allies in the process, etc. He knew of course that the threat of Garret was no more. And there wasn't an Apocalypse looming around them... yet, anyway, again. They might not find anything of note each time doing this. But they still could. He felt it was always a possibility. A monster or freak could have strayed from elsewhere and be here. Or at the least, he might se suspicious activity done by a human. What did they call that? Oh, yes... crime. He didn't feel threatened by that. In those cases, which might not be often in happening or at all, he'd find a way to subdue them and notify the authorities. Or alternatively, jot down their plate numbers and make the call.
He was dressed comfortably for it. And nicely, he'd think. All black, pants, shirt, boots, dark badass longcoat. The coat was nice. It made him easier to conceal a sword. Not that he'd likely need it. But just in case. One never knew when protection might be a wise idea in these occasions. Of course he possessed guns but those were back in the apartment. But those could be a bit loud and he had yet to get suppressors for them. The young man had been at this for some time now this evening. Walking down the sidewalk, eyes alert for what he'd see in front and on each of him. While occasionally glancing behind casually, possibly at intervals of 12-15 seconds. He was fully alert to anything around him. One of his supernatural talents was also to sense danger, though usually.. that applied to threats toward himself. He didn't feel anything like that at the moment. A varied amount of people walking around, though, but not with a purpose as he did now, they simply went about their plans, or walking to eat, or texting obliviously on their phones. He had whistled lightly to warn one they were about to hit a wall or trip off the curb, then went on. He continued down the path, turning a corner at the end of the walkway and passing a few stores. A diner, a bar, bookstore, and gas station which he saw at the end of this pathway. He was halfway toward the end of his patrol route now. Once there, he would walk back to the opposite end and destination, continuing this til his time was finished. Damien was curious if he'd run across anyone else doing patrols, might be likely they started at the opposite end as he had. Or their shift was starting to end and they were going to go eat. Possibly he would run into someone he knew at the apartment or from a past hunt. He hadn't seen anyone familiar yet, anything could be possible.
For now he continued down the path of his patrol and keeping eyes out. So far, so good. It was times like this that he enjoyed himself. He would probably go have a good dinner once he was done. He had already passed a couple nice diners, and a restaurant or two on his trek so far. Tempted his mind to wander on that subject, but he didn't. He'd learned discipline from his sergeant, to be of a singular mind when doing an important task, no distraction exists but the job. It was perhaps one thing that made him a good soldier or hunter. Time would tell if that is fated to hold true. But he had done well enough on it so far. Tonight was a bit normal and uneventful but he was prepared for anything just to be cautious. In the years he'd lived here, the Seal had certainly taught him that much. And him, he had never been the type of student to forget important lessons.
