WHO: Sam & Jacen
WHAT: It's time to take a look at that wall in his head.
WHEN: After this post.
WHERE: The Winchester bunker.
RATING: tbd.

An extensive assortment of weapons were methodically placed along the large, rectangular table that the taller Winchester brother was leaning into. Palms and fingers digging into the edges of the oak engrained surface, Sam looked fixedly at one item in particular - a blade, sharp as can be and fully capable of slicing it's way through most anything a hunter had their eyes on. It was that very knife that had triggered his flash hours prior, leaving Sam with ten times as many questions as he'd started with. Questions that, try as he might, no one wanted to give him the answers to. They were protecting him, he was confident of that, but Sam didn't understand why they had chosen to be so pointedly vague about every detail. The damage had already been done. People were dead. Potentially more people than he had originally anticipated when he'd uncovered those first few flashes during his encounter with the hunters from before. That didn't seem to bother anyone. Nothing mattered, it seemed, except that he stopped asking questions.

Easier said than done.

Luckily for him, Jacen had offered him some assistance on that front. He didn't want to forget what he knew. It was important that he stayed aware, no matter how desperately everyone had begged for him to turn his back on everything. If people were at risk, if people had gotten hurt because of him, Sam wouldn't let that information escape him. He'd brought too much pain into the world before and had spent the longest time burrowing into a place of numbing disinterest, all thanks to demon blood. Sam would never let that happen again. Addiction or not, he wasn't going to be that guy. He wasn't going to stop caring.

No one else would get hurt. Not because of him.

There would be no forgetting. Instead, Jacen would help him seal off whatever it was in his head that was kicking those vivid recollections off. If it was dangerous, as people had warned, then Sam didn't want to find out what was on the other end of those flashes. As curious as he was, he didn't want to risk kicking off whatever it was that Lucifer had done to him. That was what they were worried about, he was sure of it. They'd blocked off whatever brain-washed monster Lucifer had turned him into and if he kept digging there was a chance that the person he had become would surface again.

Face scrunched up thoughtfully, Sam only bothered to turn his surveillance elsewhere when he heard the humming whir of the elevator sliding downward from the level above. Jacen. The bunker was beyond secure. There were layers upon layers of security planted throughout the entire facility, making entry to the uninvited practically impossible. Jacen was expected. Sam had disengaged most of the defenses, leaving Jacen to submit to a facial recognition scan at the door, along with inputting a password that Sam had forward to him during a phone call when he'd given him directions to the bunkers location.

Yeah, Sam thought to himself, the corner of his mouth turning upward a touch, even the Batcave doesn't have security this tight. Debatable, as far as Dean had been concerned, but Sam had waved him off. He was proud of the advanced security. It was the best hunting quarters he'd ever laid eyes on and he'd seen plenty.

The elevator would land on a level two staircases above him. The bunker was a maze, even to him still, so Sam pushed himself away from the table he'd been observing and set off to greet him.

Jacen had seen a lot. He'd seen planets that were covered in cityscapes, biotech wiping out entire worlds, he'd seen Star Destroyers, Sun Crushers, he'd seen buildings with the height of GA security. And even he had to admit this bunker was pretty kriffing badass. Sam had made a remarkably impressive wish. Though neverending perfect coffee existed now and no one could take that away from him. He'd allowed the facial recognition and coded in the password he'd been sent and as the light turned from red to green stepped into the elevator. He was sure Sam was entirely too proud of this place.

Probably focusing on it more than what was going on inside his head. No one should have to think about that, no one should have to suffer through what he'd been through. And now it seemed the wall was crumbling. It had been a possibility. If he pushed and he pushed it would come crawling down. Jacen knew he couldn't contain the damaged soul himself, not even his power, vast as it was could do that. The soul was something he barely understood and Sam's...well it was shattered, torn and broken more so probably than even that of his wife.

He could maybe reinforce the wall though. Replace a few blocks, set a few links up in Sam's mind. So that he wouldnt think of the wall, he'd think of something else. Keeping what he knew...well he wouldn't reccomend it but they'd talk that out.

The elevator came to a stop just as Jacen saw Sam coming toward him, this place was huge.

"As wishes go, its not terrible." he said simply. "I'll need a tour of the place you understand."

Jacen's remark earned him a nod of appreciation. No matter how composed Sam wanted to appear about his new sanctuary, he really couldn't help the glint of pride that crept it's way out whenever someone set foot inside for the first time. Second to the instruction that guaranteed safety on his home property, this was undoubtedly the best wish he'd come up with in all of the years that the bauble had decided to make an appearance. "I figured it was about time to start keeping my work away from home," Sam explained. He tipped his head to the side, gesturing back to the what was meant to be the meeting area. "I'm still trying to figure most of this place out. Happy to give the tour, but there's a good chance we'll both end up seeing something new in the process. Over here."

Sam showed Jacen over to a room directly opposite of the central staircase, leading to a larger table. Unlike the one that he had been using to examine his arsenal, this one was circular and much, much more massive. It was clearly intended to be used by multiple people. The table was surrounded with leather bound chairs which - as Sam could attest to - were definitely built for comfort. A monumental screen that Sam had been eager to break in painted the wall beyond the table. It was, for the time being, pitch black. There were a few notable arrangements scattered throughout the room beyond that (for example, a very old sword strung up in a decorative manner on the right wall), but it was the central arrangement that stood out the most.

"We should probably get this over with first," Sam suggested, turning to look back at Jacen once they were both inside. "I'm not exactly sure what might trigger another one of those flashes and I really don't want to find something around here that might kick one off."

He probably should have been more nervous about the person that he was asking to dig around in his head, but Sam found that he wasn't. Jacen had proved himself a long time ago. Others may have been wary of him, but Sam and Jacen had reached a mutual understanding of one another. He wasn't a concern. Whatever was going on in his head? That was what made Sam uncomfortable. He only hoped that Jacen could somehow find a way to stabilize it.

It made sense. Sam wasn't just a hunter anymore. The displaced had come to view him as a leader of sorts in spite of all he'd been through, and yes, caused. Sam kept going, kept fighting. Jacen had come to respect that in his friend. Though it had taken them a while to come to that. That whole business with Dean and his powers. It had been a mess, but they'd gotten through it to become fairly close. Sam trusted him. And that meant a lot to someone who had believed such chances wouldn't come round for him anymore.

Which was why he had offered this. Sam needed help. Needed to look away from that wall in his mind and Jacen was probably one of the few in the city that could help with what had been done to him. Oh he wasn't saying he could fix everything. But he could maybe renforce what was there. He did admire the room as they walked into it, impressive surroundings. Tech entirely up to spec, for this kind of era anyway. And weapons. It really was a good base for them. And maybe it could become that if they needed it to.

But for now he needed to focus on Sam. And he had to ask him something kind of awful. But it was the only way to do it. He needed to isolate the start point of this mess before he even started thinking about the wall. He needed to know how deep in this was.

"Alright. I'm sorry Sam but I'm going to need you to think back to the cage. You remember glimpses right. I'm going to need one of those to get in. Stay focused, stay calm and know that I'm in control of this. Can you do that for me?
