Ric wasn't really drunk, either. He'd downed a lot of bourbon, but vampires didn't get drunk quite as easily as humans. The bourbon did take the edge off his heightened emotions, but it hadn't done a lot to ease that feeling of guilt or that feeling of not being worthy. Standing in front of Jenna now, that feeling intensified. He looked at her and knew he didn't deserve her, in any sense.
Elena and Caroline had both told her Jenna was "up to speed" on everything. Elena had even suggested that Jenna was okay with everything he'd done. How could she be, though? He wasn't okay with it. There were things he could never make up for, things he would hate himself forever over. How could she feel anything less?
As he returned her stare, Ric knew he should turn around and walk out, but he couldn't seem to make his feet and his legs move. It was as if he was frozen in place, under some kind of spell.
"Jenna..." he began before he realized he had no idea what to say to her.
