Kol watched her as she tried to work up the nerve to divulge it all to him. He could hear the thud of her heart in her chest, try as she might to keep herself calm, she wasn't, not completely. And he understood it. They had...a history. She had reasons to be wary. And besides that, she was opening herself up to a lot of vulnerability right now. She was taking it a lot better than he would have. Hell, he had issues opening up about certain things to his own damn siblings sometimes, nevermind one of his enemies, the ones that were never supposed to see you weak.

Go against them, use their magic against their own, or for too much personal gain and that would be it. He'd seen it several times. The ancestors were damn finicky.
