She gave him a wide smile. As soon as the words had been out of her mouth she had worried he might take it wrong. She cared for him and wouldn't mind going out on an actual date, but she wasn't entirely sure he'd have the same feelings on the subject. Still, this was a start. She would try very hard not to really push things, though, just in case.
"Well, when we're done with supper maybe we could take a walk somewhere," she suggested. "There's a park nearby that I go to when I feel too cooped up at home. There are walking paths and benches to sit on, and even though it's getting colder it's still nice out." She paused. "If you want, I'll treat you to something warm to drink, since you brought supper tonight."
