"We are what life has made us. Both of us." He grinned. "But, the reminder that you weren't always an evil vampire bitch, may have made me briefly feel more understanding." And besides, if he was stuck here, with her always around, clearing the air didn't seem such a bad idea.

"I've known you too long, Katherine. I generally expect what comes out of your mouth to be lies. It's easier." He replied, his tone light and teasing.
