If she had been human!Caroline jealousy would have coursed through her body in seconds. Old insecurities easily coming to the forefront and threatening to overtake her, but she had grown up, come into her own skin, and jealousy over some random girl checking out Klaus just seemed very beneath her. She knew how Klaus felt about her, was very secure in that knowledge and if he wanted to drink from the girl and then leave her behind it really didn’t matter to her.
After all the girl was just a meal.
Caroline scanned the crowd again, no longer wanting to go with the single man, concerned she might lose control because he was alone. A quick drink in the crowd would be better. Maybe she could do multiples then. She wasn’t too sure, but she did pick out a new target.
“Well, how about her,” Caroline suggested, nodding toward another group of girls. “Because that one has been checking me out since we got in here and I bet I could persuade her to dance. And then what? Compel to be compliant, feed some and then tell her to go on her merry way and forget all about me?”
That seemed simple enough. Even if she was still a mess of nerves.
