AFTERMATH- Tahiri/Jacen
The One Who Was Shaped simply stood and stared at the God That Was, letting him talk, letting him get out the statement and then the ranting. It was true, of course, Jacen could do all of that and take the power, take her power, and reshape the world as he saw fit, bringing back Jaina, or at least some form of her, and be in complete control.
But the cost. It was beyond anything that could be put into words, and Tahiri didn't need to say it. Jacen knew. Came to that same conclusion on his own. That to try would turn him into the new enemy, would cause more war and pain and death, and Jaina would never forgive him for that. And to even try to do so would dishonor everything she had stood for.
"I don't know." She finally spoke at his question, her voice soft. "I didn't see her, I wasn't allowed." She had been locked in a cell and had felt Caedus' death rather than been told about it. That loss of her master. "But you know as well as I do that the twin bond never went away. Not completely. You know that." So yes, this was probably exactly what Jaina had felt after she had driven her lightsaber through her twin brother's heart.
Tahiri stepped in closer, close enough that she could even feel his breath on her face as she looked up, ignoring the slight trickle of blood on her cheek from a demon's knife. "You be yourself. The brother she loved, the brother she believed in." Be Jacen Solo. He had worked so long and so hard to find the balance within himself that both accepted the darkness and kept it at bay, a struggle that remained every day and one she was determined to never leave him alone to deal with.
"You know, in your heart you know what she would want from you. To help these people rebuild their lives, to be a friend, to be a father." Without even thinking about it, her hand drifted to where her bump was quite noticeable now, two babies both calm inside. "She believed in you, I believe in you. You can make her proud."
