The silence wasn't what he had expected. Actually, if he were honest, Kol expected ranting. And rage. And...who knew what else. But this, this threw him off and he wasn't entirely sure what to do as she just sat there and tried to process everything that he had just told her.
And there it was. The rant he'd been expecting.
He opened his mouth to say something, but she just kept going. It would have been amusing if it wasn't for the seriousness of the conversation at hand. "Hey, hey," he frowned as she switched gears again, back to choking back tears and he wasn't sure if he was supposed to be able to keep up with this back and forth, but he couldn't. "Just...calm down, first of all. Breathe." He reminded her, watching her with an arched eyebrow. "There we go." he nodded as he saw her pull herself back togther.
"He does," he shook his head slightly. "God help all of us, he loves you more than I think he's ever loved anything, Caroline." He knew that she didn't like hearing this sort of thing, how long relationships may be for a vampire, didn't like thinking about the literal "forever" aspect. But honestly? It had to be said.
"You need to feed," A soft, mumbled comment that was offhand, but he clung to the normality of it. The rest of this, it was more than he wanted to have to handle. More emotion than he knew what to do with, honestly.
