Kol Mikaelson kills for sport. ([info]itchtokill) wrote in [info]wariscoming,
This part. This was the part he was dreading. Actually divulging the details to exactly how bad it had gotten. And there were so many parts to it and he had absolutely no way of predicting exactly how Caroline might react. She was nowhere near as bad as Nik in terms of unpredictability, but for all that he had talked to her, really Kol didn't know her that well.

"Stefan, ever the hero, decided to help. Keep him distracted. It worked...for a bit. And then...something happened, Nik, he...he caught Stefan and Bekah. It wasn't even a big deal. Hand on her shoulder, but it set him off. He bit him, Caroline. Refused to give him the blood. That's when it really got bad." Because of course that wasn't the end of it, no, there was always more to the story when the Mikaelson's were involved.

"Started a fucking storm. People trying to find a way to make him give his blood over. Telling us that whatever we were doing to handle him wasn't working, but really, that wasn't our fault, most of it was--" He stopped. Blame games weren't really what she needed right now. "Everyone was scrambling for ideas on how to force his hand. I was trying to balance everything. Bekah was freaking out and she was-" Kol shook his head, staring at the corner of the stall, looking decidedly away from Caroline, jaw set, trying to regain the composure he'd nearly lost. "She was ready to sell her soul for him, Caroline."

That was the part he still hadn't been able to get out of his head. His sister, his only sister, the one of his siblings he was closest to, was so willing to just give her life up for Stefan's. Noble, maybe, but he couldn't handle it. Losing her. Time's up and she'd be down there, on this infamous rack he kept hearing about. Tortured until there was nothing of who she was left. Empty. Soulless. Heartless. Nothing more than one of those things that had possessed him. The thought of his baby sister like that? It wasn't something he'd be getting out of his head any time soon.
