Connor was too miserable to feel embarrassed at being caught with his heart breaking. When the door opened, he barely even glanced up. But the arms around him, those he felt. Despite his super strength that could, quite easily, crush him, Kon always knew exactly the sort of hug he needed. For a clone who hadn't exactly been showered with affection, he was a clingy sort. The type who did enjoy being hugged and Connor couldn't deny him that when he needed it.
Right then, though, it was Connor who needed it. He needed to rely on someone else's strength, because he had none of his own left. The emotional battle was taking its toll and he'd never felt more weak. He returned the hug, his arms tightening around his friend as he buried his face in the teenager's shoulder. He should have felt guilty. To be so young, both physically and mentally, Kon had the entire weight of the world on his shoulders. And yet he was there, dealing with Connor's emotional crisis.
But he was too tired and hurt to argue and he simply sobbed into the fabric of Kon's t-shirt until his body ached and his eyes burned and he had nothing left in him.
"I can't...keep...doing this..." he all but whimpered between sobs.
