Lois kept up the soothing motion against his back, remembering when her mother had done it to her all those years ago before she had died. It had helped calm her down and she hoped it helped Kon as well. She noted his expression and the lip chewing, the sulking was so typical of a teenager that she was at least grateful to see that much in him.
"I'll dry later." She took in the rest of what he said, not surprised he was blaming himself for Connor's situation. "You're fast, Kon, but no one expects you to be everywhere at once. Not even Clark can be." The scar on her shoulder where she'd been shot was proof enough that. "You do the best you can do with the time that you have. That's it. You got Connor back here before he could bleed out. Maybe you didn't stop the wound from happening, but you saved his life."
She glanced over at Krypto, not surprised at his behavior. Animals were good at picking up on tension, and considering he was a super dog that probably meant he was better at it than most. "Stop beating yourself up."
