He didn't like the idea of some cosmic force controlling his every move, but he had ended up here and that was telling enough in its own right. And it wasn't all bad, he had to admit. Edward was different from any woman he would have met in his own time, and he quite enjoyed the bond they had. So that was a plus.
"I suppose you have a point," he said, moving into the park. "I imagined things might have turned out very differently if someone else had found me. I was not quite as sociable where I was from. You seem to have broken me out of my shell. I'm grateful for that. I had a rather lonely existence where I am from." He gave her a solid and warm smile. "Thank you for that."
